DOG FIND: SEARCH DOG LOLA

06.11.06. at around 1945hrs, Matt Creer and Search Dog Lola, with Navigator Lissa Barklie were called to search for a 41 year old woman who had left a letter at her home address stating she intended to take her own life. She had not been seen since that morning.

After only 15 minutes of searching hill land near to the misper's home, Lola located the woman hidden within a large pile of hay bales in a remote stable building. She had taken an overdose, was unconcious and deteriorting rapidly. With the assistance of Police Officers, who had been at her home, they urgently removed the woman to the nearest road where an ambulance quickly conveyed her to Nobles Hospital, where it is hoped she will make a full recovery.

In the middle of a joint training excersise between SARDA IOM and Lowland Search Dogs Southern, we received an urgent request from the Police to search an area North of Killabrega, between Mount Karrin and the Ballaugh Plantation after a walker thought he heard cries for help in the area.

SARDA IOM were joined by LSDogs Southern on the search who were able to provide 4 additional dogs allowing the area to be searched very quickly.

Area searched and cleared. Nothing found.
